PADI Rescue Diver Course is best described as “Challenging” and “rewarding” and probably the best diving course you’ll take. PADI Diving Instructors takes great pride in teaching the PADI Rescue Diver course in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

 

PADI Rescue Diver course builds upon what you’ve already learned in the PADI Open Water Diver Course and the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course along with any PADI Specialty course that you have taken which our PADI Diving instructors or even our PADI Course Director will be willing to give a helping hand in.

 

The PADI Rescue Diver course expands on what you already know about how to prevent problems, and how to manage them if they occur in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, and even if your not yet considering to become a dive professional, the PADI Divemaster course awaits you after the PADI Rescue Diver course which is so fun, the PADI instructor teaching you provides a wealth of experience providing you challenges to overcome and help you master the art of PADI Rescue Diver. Most divers find this course both demanding and rewarding, and at the end, say it’s the best course they’ve ever taken.

 

During this course you will learn about, self rescue, recognizing and managing stress in other divers, emergency management and equipment, rescuing panicked divers, and rescuing unresponsive divers.

 

 

Course Schedule

 

Day One

 

  • 9.00am – Meet at the dive shop and start registration.
  • 9.30am – Knowledge review and instructor elaboration.
  • 11.00am – Classroom presentation from instructor.
  • 12.30pm – lunch break with class and instructor.
  • 1.30pm – Watch PADI Rescue Diver DVD.
  • 3.00pm – Classroom presentation from instructor.
  • 5.00pm – Class ends.

 

Day Two

 

  • 8.30am – Arrive at the jesselton point jetty.
  • 9.00am – After reaching island, gear assembly, and briefing for rescue training sessions.
  • 9.30am – Self rescue review, exercise 1 – tired diver, exercise 2 – panicked diver, exercise 3 –response from shore, boat or dock, exercise 4 – distressed diver underwater, exercise 5 – missing diver.
  • 12.30pm – Hot Lunch at the island restaurant.
  • 2.30pm – Open Water Rescue Scenario One.
  • 4.00pm – Arrive back at jesselton point jetty.

 

Day Three

 

  • 8.30am – Arrive at the jesselton point jetty.
  • 9.00am – After reaching island, gear assembly, and briefing for rescue training sessions.
  • 9.30am – exercise 6 – surfacing the unresponsive diver, exercise 7 – unresponsive diver at the surface, exercise 8 – exiting the unresponsive diver, exercise 9 – first aid for pressure-related injuries and oxygen administration, and exercise 10 – response from shore/boat unresponsive diver.
  • 12.30pm – Hot Lunch at the island restaurant.
  • 2.30pm – Open Water Rescue Scenario Two.
  • 4.00pm – Arrive back at jesselton point jetty, final exam and then certification.

 

Duration

 

The rescue diver course is based over three days, having a fourth day optional if any exercises have not been completed. The first day will compromise of rescue theory training, of instructor elaboration and PADI Rescue Diver DVD. This will then be followed on the second day by confined open water training and one open water scenario after lunch. The third day will be the second half of the confined water training, and one more open water scenarios.

Pre Requisites

 

  • PADI Rescue Diver must be 12 years or older.
  • PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or have a qualifying certification from another organization).
  • Trained and current for first aid and CPR within the previous two years, please see our
